Roarer vs Hevy

August 2026

Roarer is a quiet, program first workout tracker: one plan, the next session ready, a clean log and nothing to scroll. Hevy is a logger wrapped in a social network, where routines sit next to a home feed, a discovery feed, likes and comments.

Quick comparison

Plan limits No limit on how many programs you build Free tier: four routines

Who is each app for?

Roarer is for lifters who want training to stay private and the interface to stay still. Hevy is for people who want an audience for their sessions and do not mind that the logbook shares the app with a feed.

Your program, not an algorithm's

Roarer puts the multi week plan you own in the centre: build it or copy a base one, edit it freely, and let the app track where you are in it. Hevy is organised around routines and folders, with Hevy Trainer generating a program and raising your weights on the Pro plan, while the free tier stops at four routines.

History without the profile

Roarer saves every session automatically and shows the sets, a per exercise diary and a weight chart, with body measurements next to them. In Hevy the same history lives inside a social profile, alongside progress photos and follower counts, which is a different thing from a training log.

Why Roarer

Choose Roarer if you want a program first tracker with a clean interface, no feed, no likes and no reason to compare your session with a stranger's. Hevy is the answer if the community is the part of training you actually came for.
